Lawrence Lee Shaver is a native of Indiana. He is a Marine Corps veteran and a graduate of Ball State University
(B.A.); Christian Theological Seminary (M. Div. and S.T.M.); Geneva Theological College (S.T.D.); Graduate Theological Foundation
(D. Min); and Nashotah House Seminary (S.T.M).
Ordained originally as a Methodist minister, then a Lutheran pastor, he was admitted to Holy Orders in 1971 and 1972.
In 1985 he was consecrated a bishop in the Anglican Succession by the Philippine Independent Catholic Church. In 1992
he was appointed Bishop Ordinary for the Anglican Rite Diocese of Saint Augustine. The diocese was received into the
APA in May, 2003.
Dr. Shaver is a board-cerified psychotherapist with the American Psychotherapy Association. He is also a Certified
Addictions Specialist with the American Academy of health Care Providers and a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist, with
the National Association of Forensic Counselors. He is founder and Executive Director of Anglican Social Services in
Merrillville, Indiana and continues a limited practice in the diagnosis and treatment of addictions.
Bishop Shaver and his wife Carol make their home in Valparaiso, Indiana.
