Missionary Society of Saint John Joins Diocese and APA

The Diocese of Saint Augustine held a specially called Synod at St. John the Apostle Anglican Church, Clinton Township, Michigan.  This Synod validated the merger of the Missionary Society of Saint John  with the Diocese of Saint Augustine and the Anglican Province of America.  The Right Rev'd Frederick Fick was elected to serve as Suffragan Bishop  of a new diocese, which will consist of twenty-two parishes in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, kentucky, Illinois, Idaho and Texas and will be renamed the Diocese of Mid America.

Priests, deacons and postulants were also received, including two priests from the Roman Catholic Church.

DSA is now Diocese of Mid America

The Diocese of Saint Augustine, formerly a non-geographical diocese of the Anglican Province of America, is now, thanks to the recent synod and merger of the Missionary Society of Saint John and the Diocese of Saint Augustine, a geographical Diocese of Mid America.  God has blessed us, and this new name will only expand our witness and ministry in the Name of Jesus Christ.
